Clash of the Titans - Brixton Academy, London

24.08.03

Arriving at 8pm to catch the action from the start, we were not disappointed. Mampi Swift delivered an electrifying set to an unfortunately, but predictable, fairly empty room. Swift laid down classics such as ‘Pacman’ setting the example to be followed with an impressive mix alongside newer material such as ‘Vault’ by Pendulum.

The first thing to hit you in the main room was the impressive sound and light show - excellent sound quality with a rumbling bass that couldn’t be faulted. Giant screens donned the front of the stage with some wicked VJ’ing going on. The visual and audio set-up was definitely not going to disappoint even the most discerning D&B heads out there!

Goldie, as always, the true superstar DJ turned up in his Ferrari to play the second set of the night. Goldie played a pretty good set, but still the room was fairly empty.

Things had heated up and the room was nicely filled by midnight. Highlights included Krust and Die, accompanied by MC Dynamite, who did a wicked job of whooping up the crowd.

Loxy, looking like an extra from a Nelly video, played a good, aggressive set, and Bad Company played their typical relentless act – not stopping for man or beast.

Overall, a fantastic night. TOV certainly excelled themselves. Roll on next year!
