15.04.2006
Dubbed as "London’s largest dance music event of the year" Tranz-Mission was set to be one of the finest events of 2006 bringing together Slammin Vinyl and Frantic once again as 10,000 descended on the mighty Alexandra Palace. With 5 massive arenas featuring everything from drum n bass, old skool, hardcore, trance and funky house we were gonna be in for a real treat.
The first arena was Hardcore Heaven with the main stage set below the great circular window of Alexandra Palace as a formidable back-drop to what proved to be my favourite arena of the night. Mark EG rocked the room in his usual style.
Room 2 was drum n bass powered by the mighty Slammin Vinyl
In room 3 we had Frantic stomping out a selection of trance hard house and hardstyle from the likes of Yoji and the Frantic regulars Cally and Juice, Lisa Pin Up and many more.
Room 4 was hosted by Raindance with a mixture of old skool beats
Finally room 5, discovered by chance and hidden away in the bowels of Alexandra Palace featured Kinky Malinki playing funky, sexy house music.
The organisation of the event was flawless. Everything from the queues, searches and bars moved quickly and efficiently. The only down-side was the lack of cloakrooms and staff (one person manning a room dealing with hundreds of clubbers). Some people queued for 40 minutes only to be turned away as it was full.
Tranzmission is one of those events you just don't forget in a hurry. Role on Tranzmission 2007....
