Umbaba (Popular/Commercial Dance)
Umbaba is situated in the heart of Soho between the world-famous Carnaby Street and Kingly Court. Even though it's a fairly new addition to the London party scene, Umbaba has already established itself as a major player.
The bold designs inspiration has been drawn from traditional African art and the ancient archaeological sites of Western Africa. With a serious theme like this, its gives you an added element of escapism to your night. Earthy colors, stone structures and a unique light installation add to the overall authenticity of Umbaba.
The VIP room is a fantastic colonial safari tent ideal for those wishing to get away from the madness of the dance floor. Draped in light fabrics softly lit by candles it's definitely something very unusual for London's West-end; a touch of mystique. |

Union. (Electro)
Union is a collaboration between three existing London club promoters, Wayne Shires of Crash, Alan Roberts of MA1 and Steve Darragh of Fitladz fame. Between us we aim to provide Vauxhall with a much needed independent quality venue. Over the last few weeks we have invested several thousands of pounds of new equipment, including a brand new lighting rig in both rooms, the famous Avalon sound system re-installed, a pool room, cruise areas and a large bar area plus a partly covered smoking area to the front of the venue. The club will initially be open most of the weekend with other nights and events to follow on. |

Upstairs@HackneyCentral (Garage/RnB/Hip Hop/Urban)
Reflecting the eclectic nature of E8, Hackney Central appeals to everyone from long-time locals to besuited newcomers, including the media hacks, dotcom entrepreneurs and young artists who’ve migrated here from neighbouring areas such as Hoxton and Islington.
Newly refurbished in an urban-industrial style Hackney Central (next to the new railway station, on the corner of Mare Street and Amhurst Road) has made a welcome addition to the burgeoning local social scene. The 72-seat restaurant is serving up creative, contemporary dishes drawing on traditional British and modern European cuisines, while the lunchtime menu includes a mature cheddar and oregano sandwhich every day for fuss-free lunching.
Drinks range from draft beer by the pint to Bellini cocktails and a well thought out wine list. Upstairs the lounge bar combines old and new, with the latest audio technology delivering cutting-edge sounds against the backdrop of a spacious interior with high-beamed ceilings and original arched windows, creating a laid-back atmosphere designed to attract a friendly crowd. |
