/ Introduction to Ibiza & Clubbing

Ibiza is still the number one holiday destination for people who want the ultimate in clubbing holidays. The island that (literally) never sleeps throughout the summer season, Ibiza is home to the planets finest promoters, featuring the biggest names on the DJ circuit in arguably the finest clubs - Privilege, Pacha, Space and Amnesia, to name but a few - and everyone’s style of music is catered for.

The Balaeric music scene primarily revolves around funky house since its recent surge in commercial popularity, with the likes of Radio 1 DJ’s Pete Tong and Judge Jules performing their weekly slots live from the island. That’s not to say there isn’t something there for the underground massive. Since the undeniably massive increase in the underground scene there are now promoters offering the finest in hard house, trance, techno, drum & bass and garage!

There are two main resort destinations in Ibiza and it’s recommend that you choose wisely depending on the kind of holiday you are looking for. If your holiday’s going to involve more than just drinking and clubbing or you’re someone who’d like their holiday away from the relentless mayhem found in San Antonio, but you still wants to party hard come nightfall, Ibiza Town is the best choice for you.

Ibiza Town is considerably more commercialised than San Antonio (Ibiza Town is the Ibizan equivalent of London - whereas San Antonio is more like Brighton - Ed) however it still manages to retain its charm and culture. Entertainment can easily be found during the daylight hours and the atmosphere in the bars is cool and relaxed. On the other hand, if it’s all out action and non-stop parties you’re after, San Antonio is your Mecca - the club capital of the galaxy, the west end is rammed with hundreds of clubs and bars, centred around the main strip which has enough choice for you to go on a different bar crawl every night. For the days there are more than enough designer shops and leisure activities to meet even the most demanding persons needs.

To simplify things a bit we’ve split our guide between the two main holiday destinations Ibiza has to offer. There are other, cheaper places to stay and many travel agents have last minute deals but be warned, while a cheap holiday may still bag you decent accommodation and leave you with extra cash to finance your fun, there is no guarantee where you will be staying. There are places to hire cars from but unless you have a designated driver or you’re prepared to wait until you’ve sobered up before driving then expect to fork out a sizeable wedge of your earner on taxis to and from the main attractions and venues (not to mention the time involved) - you will regret it.
